North Ionian Islands
Have you ever fancied having a holiday in a different format, let’s say, on a yacht? A week in Greece spent on a sailing boat is your opportunity to see this picturesque country from “on board” perspective, discover its secluded bays, meander on its islands and meet new friends.
Explore the amazing Ionian Islands with us and see for yourself how they stand out from the rest of the Greek isles scattered around the mainland Greece. Marvel at the lush green landscapes typical of this area. Follow the traces of different cultures, which once dominated these islands, in architecture, cuisine and music.
During our yachting tours around the North Ionian Islands we will visit Corfu, Paxi, Antipaxi, Parga and Sivota where you will:
A charming island praised by Homer, Henry Miller, Goethe, Oscar Wilde, such painters as Alfred Sisley and Edward Lear. It is a versatile place. Highly cosmopolitan, the island has preserved its local touch. Together with fascinating natural scenes, superb beaches and lush greenery it offers fine architecture in Italian style, Byzantine churches, medieval villages, fantastic nightlife and numerous historical sites. Being the most famous island among the other islands in the Ionian cluster this magic place with its relaxing atmosphere will definitely put you under its spell!
This picture-perfect destination is located in the north-western Preveza region. Although on the mainland, it has an island feel and features amazing whitewashed houses, colouful boats mooring in the harbor, nice taverns and tourist shops. Enjoy a promenade along the pier, stroll along the streets winding between the amphitheatrically-constructed houses or relax on one of the amazing beaches with water typical of exotic destinations – and you will fall in love with this town.
It is a small gem lost among other Ionian Islands. Nonetheless, it has plenty of treasures like ravishing beaches, underwater caves, lush greenery and olive groves. That's why the place is packed with yachts mooring in the port of Gaios, the capital village of Paxi. Gaios boasts 19th century houses, old cafes and shops. Loggos is the smallest village on Paxi, and it has great beaches and charm that are hard to surpass.
According to a myth, Neptune broke off part of Corfu with his trident to create secluded islands for himself and his beloved Amfitryti. As a result, Paxi and Antipaxi were created. This sounds quite convincing, becasue the uninhabited Antipaxi with the area of only 5 square kms is a true gem offering heavenly relaxation. The island has unparalleled beaches with inviting turquoise blue waters that are considered to be top destinations in the Ionian and in the whole of Greece for those in search of the best swimming and snorkelling experience.
Being located on the mainland, washed by the blue Ionian sea and overlooking Corfu, Sivota is popular destination with yacht lovers. This village amazes visitors with its natural beauty, crystal-clear waters and sheltered bays. The place offers spectacular views of the port with colourful boats and yachts and invites tourists to its numerous taverns with fresh fish. Dine at the marina, don't forget a glass of wine and enjoy a traditional setting while the sun hides behind the horizon.
